Natant
Today I made love to the ocean
She took me in her arms
And received all of me
My burdens
Sweetness and hope
Then kept me suspended
Drew out my pleasure
Until I surrendered to her completely
And she knew my devotion
Body slack and peaceful
Natant
I floated
Heart and breath and form pouring into her
Tears offered to her in gratitude
She is so generous
I opened my eyes astounded
Filling my gaze with the expansive sky draped over me
Perfect storybook clouds floating too
The kind I used to imagine I could bounce upon
And devour their cotton candy sweetness til I’d had my fill
So I did
A sated lover’s feast of spun sugar ecstasy
And as she held me
My ocean whispered to me through those clouds above
“You are love.
You are loved.”
In the form of heart shaped fluff
All across the sky
Hearts of all sizes in white
And blue too
(You will just have to believe me)
And when I emerged at the shore
Heart shaped coral jewels lay at my feet
As if to honor what we had shared
Some days are just like that
When you remember
That a true lover can even make love to the ocean
And well you should
